How to plan your climb

Don’t worry, we’ll work with you to confirm all arrival dates, hotel bookings and transfers.

The following is our recommended itinerary to ensure you get the most out of your climb, based on a 8-day climb itinerary. For 7 or 9 days, adjust accordingly. 😀

  • Arrive in Arusha or Moshi - “Day 0”

    • It is recommended you arrive at least one day before the climb is due to being, to recover from long flights and ensure you all your gear.

    • Any missing gear can be rented at this point, and rental gear is delivered that day or the following morning.

    • If you are arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), we’ll collect you and transfer you to the hotel.

    • We recommend arriving as early as possible to make the most of the day.

    • An evening Climb and Safety briefing will be run for all climbers at the hotel, to kick of an amazing adventure.

  • Departure Day - “Day 1”

    • This is the date we show on our booking system.

    • You are collected from your hotel and taken by Jeep or Minibus to the Kilimanjaro park gates, ready to start your first day of hiking.

    • The day normally starts at around 6-9am, with lunch at the park gates

  • The Climb itself - “Day 1” to “Day 7” inclusive

    • These are your days on Kilimanjaro!

  • The Summit Climb - “evening of Day 7”

    • We will leave camp between 10pm-1am, and start the final push to the summit, with the goal of arriving at Stella Point by sunrise.

  • Return to Base - “Day 8”

    • The group will leave the summit and descend back to the final camp or gate, before returning back to the hotel for a celebratory meal!

  • The Day After

  • Climbers depart the hotel for their next adventure, perhaps a Safari, a day trip to the national parks, or an onward flight.

Optional Safaris, Shopping and Activities

There are many, many additional activities available in the Kilimanjaro area, and we’re always happy to help organise these for you.
